1st Birthday

Our baby turned one today!!!!! We cannot believe how quickly this past year has flown by. Hazel is such a joy and we just love her!!! Happy Birthday, baby bird!!! : )

Hazel's 1 year stats from pediatrician. 20 lbs. 5 oz., 29 1/2" long, and 17.6" head circumference.

Her infamous finger point.

Hazel loves pulling out her socks and jammies and throwing back in the baskets.

Turds in the Tub

Ya, you read it right. The joys of parenthood. Good thing this little one is so cute. She gets away with it!!!!!! I bathed Hazel this past week after we had gone hiking. She pooped right before I put her in the tub. Figured I was safe. Sick!!! At least her digestive system is working well. I'll be grateful for that. That and the fact she didn't poop on me! : )

Just Another Day

I had Hazel all dressed up last week for a baby shower we went to. By the afternoon we had removed the gigantic flower from her head and her cute "shoes". But we walked to get the mail with our shades on and she cracked me up. Had to share!!!

Looks like somebody's giving me the bird.

Keep on Crawling

Hazel is on the go and loving her newfound freedom. I put her in a skirt so it would be easier to move her legs. The legwarmers are just too cute and I had to put them on! PLUS, they save on her legs and kept her warm since the house was chilly from opening windows at night.

Extra Large

Conor thinks he deserved a special present. Because he's a good boy. Why wait until Christmas or your birthday when you can get it now?! He does work very hard and so I agreed he could get it. As long as I get a gift equally as nice--that's not for my birthday or Christmas. Fair is fair, right?!

Well, he loves his new sleeping bag! He ordered one that was extra long and has more girth so his shoulders fit--with it zipped up. We all hopped in and tried it out. Very comfy, warm and super light. Lets hope it's the last sleeping bag he buys!!! : )

(It arrived just in time. We had the ward campout the following evening near Morgan. He loves it!!!)

9 Months Old

Our girl is growing up fast! We can't believe she's 9 months already. She had her shot and appointment with the pediatrician and did fantastic. I was surprised she didn't weigh more or was longer, but she's happy, healthy and growing so we're ecstatic. We're totally bummed to discover our pediatrician--whom we love--just retired. BOOOOOOOO! I've never liked any doctor so this was a total disappointment. : (

Weight: 18 lbs. 4 oz.
Length: 27 1/4"
Head Circumference: 17 1/4"

She's in the 50th percentile for all.

She's Crawling!!!

Hazel started crawling 2 weeks ago yesterday, just before turning 9 months old. She's much happier now that she's able to move around. The video and pics are from the first night. Funny how she just finally figured it out. Yeah! Now it's time to start babyproofing the house. Ugh!

Labor Day Weekend

Phil and Judy flew out to visit for Labor Day Weekend. The weather was so nice! It cooled off and rained, and was just lovely. We ate bbq from a food truck, had snowcones, hiked, worked in the yard, played with Hazel, and even conned them into taking family photos for us. It was wonderful to have them here!

Trying on her outfit for pics. I decided to go with the chambray skirt instead of the cream lace one.

Slurpee Time!

Who doesn't love a slurpee?!

Miscellaneous Cuteness

Other pics from August that were just too cute not to post. : )

Anne, Adele, Hazel, Dayna, Danielle, Wells
Two of my good friends we knew in Houston. We met for lunch/shopping in SLC with our lil' babes.
Anne's soda looked delish.
Such a Daddy's Girl

I dragged my mom along a photo shoot to help with Hazel.
It was a beautiful evening so I think they enjoyed themselves. : )

Leaving Texas–My Trek West

Well, I can't believe it has now been a year since I left Texas! Time flies by. Conor had already started his job in SLC, and couldn't take any more time off after our little jaunt to Europe. (Maybe I'll get around to posting about that soon.) I was faced with the fact of driving to Utah alone. My sweet brother-in-law, Bo, saved the day and offered to help me drive back. All I had to do was buy a one way ticket and stop to see the JFK shooting site in Dallas. Perfect! I had always wanted to make it there myself and hadn't.

I made sure all our stuff was packed/loaded on the moving truck and cleaned the house in Houston. It's so crazy to be in your house when it's empty. Kinda sad. It was weird to not have Conor there, either. Said goodbye to some of my good friends and stayed at Pat and Jan's for the evening. Headed out to Dallas the next morning to pick up Bo at the airport and we managed to find our way to downtown.

The museum was awesome and loved to see a part of history. Nothing like I had expected, but I haven't looked into it much. We also hit up a museum about the Jews, but it didn't hold a candle to what I had just been to in Europe. Plus we were rushed since they were closing down. Then it was off to Pappasito's. Bo had to experience some good Tex Mex. We finally hit the road and my goal was to make it to Amarillo. Check!!! By the next evening we were in SLC and I met Conor at our temporary home: The Little America. : ) Bo and I tried our hardest to bring back some Hatch green chilies from New Mexico but a nasty storm pushed the roasting guys out of there. We sadly watched them pull out of the parking lot as we pulled in. Our trip to Utah was made in record time–no dawdling after Dallas!

There are things we miss about Texas, but we are much happier living in Utah. Here's to the outdoors, mountains, and the seasons that we are totally enjoying!!!

Our accumulated mail after being gone 3 weeks.

Bo liked the patio area at Pappasito's so I took a pic for him.
