Hazel's Birthday Party

We got a littel more use out of this shirt. : )
We waited until Conor's family could be here for Hazel's birthday. It's so close to Christmas, and she doesn't know the difference anyway. : ) I was hoping for a more dramatic cake eating. But this girl already eats treats, dessert, ice cream, etc. It's not such a big deal. She still made a good showing and put down the cake!!!
My sweet 1st attempt at her birthday cupcakes and baby cake. Tasted good, but looked like crap.  I cut off the crusts. Hazel's cake below was totally stuck and fell apart.

All the cupcake crusts were tasty treats to nibble on. lol!

2nd batch looked much prettier!!! Everyone said the 1st batch tasted better.  At least there were plenty of cupcakes to go around!

Wiping off the cake on her hands.
Eating every last crumb on her tray.
She polished off at least 1/3 of her cake. Grandpa Phil to the rescue with milk to wash it down!
She wanted more cake. Hazel would've sat there all night and eaten it if we let her.  She was wired until after 11 pm that night!!!

Thomas Christmas Party

My family gathered to celebrate Christmas the Saturday before this year. We thought it would be fun to make a day of it to spend time together. Malia planned a darling tree craft for the ladies that I loved. I want to make two more trees now. : ) Mindy had cute crafts for the each of the kids to make. I made sugar cookies and the kids each got to frost and decorate their own to take own. Eating the frosting seemed to be their favorite part--haha! We had a delicious dinner, a nativity by the kids, and presents. It was wonderful spending the day with everyone and I loved it!

My mom used a fork to put her moss on the tree. I was laughing so hard I could hardly take the pic. Love ya, Mom!

The infamous Mistetoad. You had to be there. I think we were the only two that found it hilarious. : )

It was a little warm in the house. lol!

Tayden was convinced he had a zit and had to get it. hahaha!

Temple Square Lights

I haven't been to see the lights on Temple Square in maybe 7 years. Sounds crazy since I used to live pretty close before we moved. Last year I wanted to go, but wasn't feeling up to it. This year I convinced Conor to go for family night in December. He had never been--so it was perfect! It was pouring rain and kinda chilly. I don't think Hazel loved it. And she loves lights and pointing at lights. Oh well. We still had a good time. Next time I want to see if the manger scenes are still there--since someone was antsy to eat dinner and wouldn't check it out. I won't name any names . . . .

December Randomness

Conor and I took an amazing trip to Southeast Asia the middle of November. Since I was a little trigger happy and shot loads of pics, I'm going to catch up through December. Then I'll post about our trip later. : )

The day before we were listening to Christmas cd's while decorating the tree. Hazel went nuts with the stereo, cranking up the volume, changing stations, etc. I unplugged it and left it there. She went and tried to plug it in the next day. Smart little cookie!!! I guess we needed some Christmas cheer in the air!
My Dad and Granny. One of my dad's good friends brought her down for the day to visit.
I actually managed to get great smiles from my Dad and grandma and look at Hazel. You can't win them all!!!
Hazel looks kinda sad here. She was waiting for me to get her breakfast ready. Don't stand between this girl and food!!!
I followed a paper trail from outside my bedroom door, down the hall, around the corner and found this lovely surprise. At least it wasn't a full roll of toilet paper!
Proof that I need to be careful of what I'm doing every second. I was on the step stool to clean the shutters and cabinet doors. I moved onto the cabinets at floor level and turned around to find this. I didn't think anything of it, at first. Then I couldn't believe Hazel had climbed up. She watches my every move and is a quick learner!
