Say Yes to the Dress

We held our own local Say Yes to the Dress when Cristy came to town the end of July. Yeah for modesty! And yeah to Utah for having a bunch of modest wedding gowns! Cristy flew out from Houston and a whirlwind dress shopping trip. Her goal was to find a gown that she could take back on the plane. Mission accomplished!!!

It was Hazel's first dress shopping experience. She loved every minute of it! Must be in the blood. ; ) I won't bore you with all the "maybe" dresses. Cristy looked stunning in this dress and I can't believe it fit her perfectly without alterations. She and John were hitched in August in Houston. Congrats you two!!!!!

Bubble Blowing Baby

My dear, sweet sister offered to stay with my Dad the end of July so my Mom could take a vacation. Since Malia had her four boys in tow, that made some things more of a challenge. Hazel and I took my Dad to his therapy one day to help her out. Hazel did really well and entertained herself much of the time. Bubble blowing was her newfound pastime. Hilarious!

What did you say, deer?

FACTS: Deer live in the mountains. WE live on the mountain where the deer live.

This smart buck knows I'm standing at the window taking his pic.
Glad they're enjoying our new landscaping. Conor's thrilled with another fact--that they're eating his roses, along with many plants the nursery said the deer would NOT eat. Please reread my top statements of this post. Why can't we all just get along? I will admit it is rather annoying to pay a lot of money for plants and trees you think they won't eat, only to have them eaten. But, I DO love to watch the deer and think it's cool they're in our yard, literally. : )

It seems I've already blogged these pics of the deer. Ugh! I can't keep track. Oh well--enjoy the photos once again. At least my words are different. This is what happens when you don't keep up with your blog posts and photos.

More of our front steps progress. Conor bought a cement mixer to speed along the progress.

Hazel loves being outside and likes the grass. I mowed it afterwards. I like to contribute something to the yard while Conor slaves away. I pull weeds, too. lol But someone has to watch the baby. : )

Honey Bunches of OH . . . . !!!!

Quite a clever little gal, that Hazel. She can pinch and grab things quite well, and rather quickly. A demonstration shown below so you can see her fine skills at work.

 Cereal was E V E R Y W H E R E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe she was hungry?! Conor takes Honey Bunches of Oats cereal to work and eats at his desk. Several sandwich bags (left open) were lying around his desk of the leftover bits he didn't want to bother with. I must say after we left that was the cleanest I had seen his desk. : )

Good thing Conor's current workplace isn't making slideshows of a clean office to send around to the other employees. He would've been the star! This is a far cry from pizza and styrofoam cups on his desk. HAHAHAHA!

Snazzy Striped Sundress

Love, Love, Love this sundress!!! I ordered it online and it showed up after the Fourth of July. But, we like to be patriotic all month with our clothes. Hazel was a ham, jabbering, talking, waving her arms, singing, etc. It was actually Pioneer Day, July 24th. For some reason I always fashion red, white, and blue. This year was no exception!!! Hazel was 7 1/2 months old. (ya, ya I am way behind)

That far off worried look she gets from her father. Even the hands!!!
Practicing for the hand puppet show. I think these were the birds she's seen outside flying. : )
She obviously cracks herself up. Made me laugh!!!!!

We may have a singer in the family.

My Favorite Ladies

Marlene, Hazel, Dayna, Jackie, Marilyn
Our reunion was a long time coming. Jackie's birthday was in July, so her daughters planned a fun outing for her in SLC for lunch and to see Wicked. Jackie moved to Richfield several years ago (I forget how many--but it has been TOO long!) and we don't see each other too often anymore. Especially when Conor whisked me away to Houston.

These are seriously some of my favorite ladies on the planet! Oh how I miss them and our "meetings" full of laughter and tears. We all served together in the Stk. YW Presidency in Magna. Since then three of us have moved away. With the help of Jesse (Jackie's husband) and Marlene we planned a surprise reunion at lunch with Jackie. It was wonderful to see all of them again! Plus they were finally able to meet Hazel! Lets not wait so long before our next rendezvous, ladies!!!

I think she's happy since she's all dolled up.  Plus, who can resist me and my smile?!
