It's Bumbo Time!

Day 1 w/the Bumbo. She's one happy girl!!!
Isn't it marvelous all of the inventive ideas and products that are out there for children? The Bumbo chair is no exception in my book. Love, Love, Love it!!! A friend told me about it but I still couldn't quite picture it. Conor ordered one on Amazon and it arrived a few days later. I immediately busted into the package and put it out for Hazel. She smiled and laughed the first time she tried it. She's strong and has good neck muscles, so it's great. Also, she's sick of laying on the floor or in the Boppy, swing, etc. Mainly due to the fact she constantly looks around and moves her head. Maybe this will help with the bald spot on the back of her head?!

P.S. Many kind people have pointed out the dangers of kids in the Bumbo. I am well aware. Also, I was informed there are recalls on them. Seriously--what item for kids doesn't have a recall?! She loves it and we love it. : )

Another noteworthy item is baby weight. MY baby weight. In 3 months I lost all of mine! Yeah!!! Pretty happy about that since I gained more than I had wanted to--35 lbs. Ouch! I attributed a lot of that to water weight and bloating. Mostly I blame living in Houston--haha--and air travels. It just never went back down. Haha! But I like to think that my walks and watching what I ate (at least until our Europe trip and the move to Utah) was really what helped me out. : ) My mom also swears by breastfeeding to lose your weight--she must be right!!!

Dad's home! She had to check it out.
And she's out!
We were going grocery shopping. But I no longer take her out in a green sleeper outfit like this.
Especially without a bow or hair thing. Last time I tried that I was told what a cute boy I had.
Now we're both ready to leave! The pink screams, "I'm a girl!!!"

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! Hazel is 1/4 Irish and proud of it!

Their favorite pastime together.
Loved this outfit. I made the hair thing and wanted to use it. It kinda matches. lol This is her pirate look.

I straightened my hair and it feels glorious!!! Plus it stays straight until I wash it. Unlike when I tried it in Houston a couple of times.
And, yes, I did dress to match Hazel. Why not?! : )

Hazel has started grabbing and holding onto objects. I give her a few ring toys in the Bumbo sometimes.

This day we didn't purposely match. We're just naturally a cute pair. : )

Hazel's Blessing

Hazel was blessed by Conor on March 10th. She was almost 3 months old. I wanted a unique dress for this special occasion. I had been hunting since August and looked in every lace shop in Brugge on our trip to Europe. I decided that wasn't the route to go, besides the fact the smallest size they had was 9-12 months. I did buy a bonnet and booties, but I kinda forgot about those. While we were in Belgium, I started searching online with Etsy and found a dress I loved, plus it had an old fashioned appeal. The lady actually lives in Logan. Well, months later--that is the dress I went with! I know the Blessing Day isn't all about the dress--but it was a big deal to me. The dress turned out perfect and I absolutely love it! I made her bracelet and shoes. No, I didn't crochet the shoes--but as long as they took me to put together and sew I could have!

Phil and Judy were able to fly in and visit for the occasion. My family was also able to make it for the day. Conor worked his magic in the kitchen and put on a tasty spread for us! Somehow I didn't manage to take any photos of the food. It was nice to relax and visit with our family afterwards. I guess some people didn't relax--but the garage cabinets look great and are so nice to have up!

*I took professional photos of Hazel in her dress. Those are posted on my photography blog if you care to see.

Phil, Conor, Hazel, Bo, Shane, Bishop Dillon, Jan

Finally--a smile!!!
Dayna, Karen, Malia, Hazel--as you can see below my mom as hogging the baby.
Someone had to give Phil a run for his money!!!
Hazel and her grandma's.

She loves sucking the back of her hands. We don't give her a pacifier so she has learned to self soothe. : )
A few seconds later she's sleeping--just like her Dad!!!

Malia and her boys!!!

She wanted to stand while I was holding her.  Maybe she wanted to show off her dress?!

Elizabeth got some face time! : )
Looks like he was finally able to steal her back!

Conor thought it would be funny to wrestle Ryker, our 4 1/2 year old nephew. He's pretty tough!
Who doesn't love Mardi Gras beads? Kormyck and I do!

March Madness

It was an eventful month for us. Highlights were Hazel's Blessing and a camping trip. Preparations for both kept us rather busy. Each of those is worthy of their own blog post. So here you'll find the photos for the beginning of March. 2 1/2–3 months old in these pics. Hazel also graduated from her newborn clothes--wahoo! Crazy enough the 0-3 don't seem like they'll fit for long. She has grown a lot and her face has filled out. A couple days after we blessed her, she practically grew overnight. The pictures prove it! ; )
Cousin Ty and Hazel striking a pose. He's 6 months older than her.
Ty looks like he's pushing her out of the picture, but he really grabbed her hair bow right after I snapped this! lol!
Ryker wanted his pic, too. Cheese!
Totally pink and totally adorable! : ) She has the cutest smile ever and they show off her dimples--my fav!
Enjoying the sunshine out back with Grandma. Her newborn pants fit, but were basically capris. This girl needs a butt!
Grandpa, Hazel and Campy taking a nap. Conor's happy to have Campy back to his proper place.
Hazel learned how to grab the toys hanging above her. Amazing how the little things are such an event at this point.

February: 2 Months Old

One word for this pic: Hilarious! She was NOT loving tummy time!

Our world now seems to revolve around Hazel. And I'm okay with that. : )

All of these photos are taken at 2 to 2 1/2 months old. Figured there were enough to make a post. She changes so quickly! We've tried to do more tummy time which she still hasn't taken a liking to. Hazel has started smiling more and more and developing more of her little personality. Chubbing up a little more each day--but was still wearing pretty much all newborn clothes at this point.

We were standing in front of a mirror and these were the faces she made seeing us reflected.

This was exciting! She finally figured out how to hit the toys! If you enlarge the pic you'll see her hands are in motion.

Grandma Percy giving Hazel a kiss--so sweet!
I wanted a 4 generation picture on my dad's side since they came to visit.
Persis is almost 95, my Dad is 66, I'm 33, Hazel 2 months.
My Dad likes to tickle Hazel's feet.
This was the cutest thing ever. I couldn't find Conor and Hazel anywhere, then spied them outside on the deck.
I was worried he would notice before I snapped it. Then I went and joined them to watch the sunset.
